The private reserve of Bandia is a small jewel of ecologic success in light of the outstanding regeneration of its floraand the reintroduction of bigmammals of Africa, some of which had almost disappeared long ago due to the demographic pressure and poaching.

II - Goree Island – Saturday 15 November (morning)

It was from this historical center of the slave trade that dozens of millions of men, women and children have been deported to the New World . Registered since 1978 on the World Heritage List of UNESCO, the Goree Island perpetuates the remnants of a long-overshadowed tragedy.

UNESCO wanted to universalize the obligation of remembrance vis-à-vis this highly symbolic island and give it back the place it deserves in the history of mankind, when proclaiming the 23 rd of August of each year “International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition.”
